Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 4 cups sifted flour

Method

  • In a separate bowl, mix ½ cup crushed walnuts, ¼ cup cinnamon and sugar.
  • Cream together the sugar and butter, add the eggs; beat well after each addition.
  • Blend in the vanilla and sour cream.
  • Into a separate bowl, sift the dry ingredients.
  • Grease the pans
  • Pour part of the batter in one of the pans and sprinkle the walnut mixture. Top with the remaining batter and then the remaining walnut mixture.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 45+ minutes if you are making 2 loaves (check with a toothpick to see if it’s done), or on a cookie sheet with squares for 40-45 minutes.

  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla
