Do we eat or need dessert because we are stressed, bored, tired or hungry.  Is there a hormone of happiness?  Does it have to do with eating something sweet?  Is that why women go from the salty to the sweet cravings 2 weeks before they get their period?  Does anyone know for sure?

I can be stuffed where my stomach hurts that I pass on some decadent dessert at the end of a good restaurant meal.  But that doesn’t mean I won’t eat one or two of the dark chocolates that I keep in a tin in my handbag, nor does it mean that I won’t hit my cookie jar the minute I walk in the door.  Why is that?

I just know that at the end of the day even if I’ve dozed off on the sofa before bed, that I look for something sweet before turning in.  No clue!Everyone that comes into my house knows that the cookie jar on my kitchen table will always have chocolate chip cookies in it.  Not a complicated recipe because I only do easy baking.  So if you find yourself needing comfort at the end of your day, just buy a bag of Nestle Chocolate Chips (I prefer the minis) and whip up a batch to satisfy that Hormone of Happiness!  Enjoy!

Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 1/4 cups all purpose flour

2 sticks of butter (personally I use Blue Bonnett)

3/4 cup sugar

3/4 brown sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

2 large eggs

i bag Semi sweet mini morsels

(You can add chopped walnuts 1 cup, but I don’t)

Cream butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla and add dry ingredients.  Stir in chips and I use a small cookie scoop to make them all look the same.  Depending on your oven 9-11 minutes.  375 oven.
